“Born different” is the central premise of Obergefell. It states: “Far from seeking to devalue marriage, the petitioners seek it for themselves because of their respect—and need—for its privileges and responsibilities. And their immutable nature dictates that same-sex marriage is their only real path to this profound commitment.” The Human Rights Campaign, for its part, defines “sexual orientation” as: “An inherent or immutable enduring emotional, romantic or sexual attraction to other people.”
What I hear you saying, however, is that DeSantis is correct. Liberals really are using “accept people how God made them” as a pretext to teach kids “you can choose to be who you want to be.” If that is the case, we really do have an ideological war on our hands against the malign forces of secular humanism coming for our kids.
