I know people who were doing this with Arctic Char up in Inuvik in 1973. Make sure you wrap it properly or you end up with a hell of a mess.

This. It can turn disastrous when not done properly. My aunt attempted to make a family dinner this way back in the 90s, and aside from being inedible, it also made the dishwasher unusable.
