I hate most open-source UIs (see GIMP and Audacity), but Blender's is a breath of fresh air so far. I was pleasantly surprised.

I took a class in Maya and found its UI to be a shitshow of redundancy and unintuitiveness. Didn't explore 3DS Max though.
