It's more that EY is the head of a Cthulhu cult, a dangerous organization like Scientology or Heaven's Gate and is moving towards increasingly apocalyptic rhetoric. Look at how his followers have whitewashed all criticism on Wikipedia and how on lesswrong they talk him the same way Scientologists speak of L. Ron Hubbard.

Journalists haven't confronted his cult for the same reason they were afraid to confront the Hubbard or LaRouche organizations. They just might slice up your cat into pieces. There was a brief window where their sugar daddy got sent home to his parents that they got talked about but in the ChatGPT age they are rampaging again with no accountability and no organized resistance.
