You're not a micromanager ... (I think) a micromanager is someone who stands over the dev's asking irrelevant questions, or offering unneeded opinions, or actually telling us how to implement (not what to implement)
I wish my manager was more like you, because it's clear you understand the importance of making the right architectural decisions. Fire your lead dev and hire someone who binds with you better.
