My comment wasn't complaining about interviews or these questions (I'm at Google now and was at Amazon before, so I've made it through these loops before and I've got no bone to pick).

I was meaning to comment on how dspeyer was portraying his solution as a simple iterative alternative to jemfinch's recursive one, when in fact it was an entirely different algorithm that calculated the results in a different way. I thought it was strange that he did not mention this.
