It doesn't matter as long as there is a new cryptography that isn't breakable because a switch is easy.

Not only are they pretty much ruling out the possibility of success [1], but blockchains mostly rely on hardness of elliptic curve discrete log (ECDLP) rather than factoring (RSA).
