Of course. They kept making desperate statements without knowing shit. Humanity literally did not know any facts about COVID-19 or its vaccines because there were no studies about the matter at the time. Yet they kept making policy decisions that violated people's freedoms based on nothing. There is no such thing as "risk-free" in medicine yet they kept insisting vaccines were risk-free. Of course things turned into a mess once contradictory results were published.

It's not so much a conspiracy as it is incompetence, desperation and false confidence. These are the people who lead us. Just dumb fallible humans like the rest of us trying to control an impossible situation. It's questionable whether they should be afforded any power to begin with.
