Ask HN: Developer abused “sign in with GitHub”?

What laws are they breaking? Can't GitHub ban you without a reason? What about HN? Are they not allowed to ban whoever they see fit? Seems scary that I could face a lawsuit if I ban someone I think is obnoxious on my forum.

It wouldn't be a matter of laws being broken. It would be a matter of contract violation of some sort.

So of you don't have anything you sign on account creation you're safe? E.g. Hacker News is just name/password.
