A couple years ago a friend of mine was working in govt medical research, and said his whole research facility was panicking because they were doing blast trauma research -- as in exposing pigs to explosions and putting them on life support -- but a hurricane had just swept through and knocked out all power. I think a lot of those pigs died prematurely.
