This is really interesting, but I found the image of "Heron's Method" to be the most mindblowing thing on the page ( https://ethw.org/w/images/thumb/a/ac/Sks23cu-HeronsMethod.jp... ). It's such an elegant method that it seems obvious after seeing it, but I would never have thought to try anything like it.
