I love what Grant Petty and his team at Blackmagic Design are doing. Creating cutting-edge, feature-rich, 10k cinema cameras at a fraction of the price of the industry giants.

Honorable mention: Cormac McCarthy. Not resting on his laurels in his autumnal years, and being unafraid to dabble with heady scientific concepts in literature.

As a programmer, I am extremely impressed by Fabrice Bellard and Justine Tunney.

Pieter Levels (levels.io) is an amazing inspiration for any indie dev.
