Every year we get more powerful or cheaper computers, phones, faster internet and mobile data connectivity, more efficient cars, wide access to a variety of foods and that's just a handful that come to mind, hard to deny these things aren't "better outcomes".
In fact a few of the major losses in terms of outcome recently have to be increasing costs of food and housing, where yes, lowering costs would in fact improve things.
Of course, you could also look internationally where this becomes even more obvious.
