Ask HN: Where can I find an updated AI reading list?
Context: I have a PhD in signal processing from the early 2010 and I went on to have a career in a security-related team. I would like to steer back my career towards AI and need to catch up on everything that came from DNN and after.
I heard that John Carmack got a reading list from Ilya@OpenAI, but I could not find it. Is there something similar that you would recommend?
I was thinking of taking the papers, implement the algorithm from scratch and build some intuition based on that experience.
Anything you would recommend?

You might also track down the website for a DL class from a reputable university and mine the syllabus for a list of assigned readings. Do that for two or three such instances and you could probably come up with a pretty solid list.
Or may just ask Carmack to share the list he was referring to? Does anybody know if he responds to Tweets / Twitter DM's, etc?
EDIT:
Also, check out https://paperswithcode.com/
EDIT 2:
Also, not reading, but.. Andrej Karpathy has a Youtube channel now and has been putting up some videos on ML topics. Might be of interest?

re Carmack: I saw that somebody else tried on Twitter without success.
Anyway, the replies in this thread actually appear to have a lot of good stuff as well. Might be worth perusing if you haven't.
