I know we can't actually get perfection. I'm just saying that we should strive for it anyway, rather than intentionally adding/keeping imperfections.

The point is that perfection is impossible because perception is relative.

A lens which has no distortion and no aberration still produces very different effects depending on how you compose a shot.
