Really amazing. I also learned to program on a Z80 clone. Now i use a laptop with 4 cores from which only 1 is usable due to thermal throtling. Teams is eating 1 from my 16 GB of RAM and 7 GB are occupied by Outlook (400MB) Excel (400MB) Edge (400MB) Acrobat (200MB) and the Windows 10 ( rest till 7 GB).
On Linux i use the same programs as 10 years ago and while the functionality has not been greatly increased, they need 4 times the amount of libraries compared to 10 years ago to function. Amazing.

You are 100% right. I am surprised you were downvoted.
We're so hardware rich, it's amazing. When I was in college, a Cray-I was the ultimate in computing... 80 Million FLOPS sustained. The supercomputer in my pocket (a $200 Motorola Smartphone) can easily beat that, doesn't require 3 phase power, raised flooring, or industrial cooling.
You kids don't seem to realize just how good you've got it.
