The part of the article I could read was about spotify. I wonder if the issue is more that spotify users are less interested in podcasts.
Spotify pushes podcasts hard, including on people like me who have and never will listen to one inside spotify. I use it as a music app, period. Maybe this is more about their inability to break into that market?
