Interesting that they are allowed to call it a "glitch" when in reality it was done on purpose to frustrate users into paying Apple for "official" repairs instead of allowing them to use a 3rd party.

That's a mighty finely tuned "glitch" with some amazing specificity that is an exact duplicate of a previous issue they had with the iPhone 6 and the home button not working if repaired by a 3rd party (which they were sued for and lost).
