Meet Astro, a home robot

This seems like a solid starting point, but it's a pretty long ways away from being something i'd be willing to put in my home.

I need laundry put away (heck folded too), groceries put away, dish washer loaded, and unloaded. I need to pick up toys my 3 year old left on the floor. I need the dog to be fed. The stuff I want a house robot to do is the hard stuff.

Understood, but is this robot anything more than surveillance? A mobile Alexa basically? Seems like a non-starter to some folks, including myself.

Someone needs to build an open version of one of these. Same quality hardware but with something like Home Assistant as the software platform.

No way I’m having one of these in my apartment with a live link up to Amazon’s servers. I even stopped buying Sonos speakers when they started embedding Alexa in them.

I’m probably in the minority though.
