I don’t know why Thanos went through the trouble of getting all those Infinity Stones. What he really needed to do was promote healthcare and education. A Thanos and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation would’ve had much better results IMO.

But also, cutting the population in half wouldn’t solve things permanently. The population was have its current size in 1950. So it would just take ~50 years to get back to its present size.
