The author seems to have gotten the name of the architect wrong, it is 'Dries Kreijkamp' [1].

This video tour [2] makes the buildings look a bit roomier than the pictures, in my opinion. Although the interior is not as modern as the pictures in the article.

The Netherlands has a strange mix of unusual architecture like this and adherence to a coherent theme/design for development of an particular area. Though I'm not fond of these designs. the Cubic houses in Rotterdam are far more stylish and attractive for people to actually live in.
