Plenty of people run Emacs purely in order to use Magit & don’t use it for anything else. That’s how good Magit is.

It is excellent, and you can use it well without reading anything (assuming you know git, and I know emacs so maybe that too, although it has the pleasant property of listing a lot of keyboard commands in the UI).
