The key is finding the right mix between autonomy and direction. You really need both cause there is a need for direction and organization esp as the group grows beyond team size.

But most problems aren’t a result of following the correct “science” of management, itself a dubious proposition, but can be traced back to what’s really important. You have to have the right people in the building to start with.
