The trick is that police need a warrant to invade your privacy via cell phones or whatever, but they won’t need a warrant for the flawed surveillance stuff that can end up severely fucking over someone’s life/their family if the police ever decide they don’t like them for whatever reason, such as being an advocacy against police abuse ;)
