So blog first, then file bug? Anyway, I am the kernel maintainer, but not the kmod maintainer, so I didn't see the bug. I did however create a pull request to remove the script from Fedora, and that was merged. I would expect it to make updates fairly soon.

It is always better to ask if we can do something than just assume we can't or won't. Fedora is largely driven by what the community wants and needs.
