AFAIK [1], even Viral Vector vaccines haven't been around for a long time either; just the Ebola one apart from CoVID.

The majority of vaccines prevalent since a long time have either been inactivated or attenuated vaccines.

The only CoVID inactivated vaccines are listed here [2], a couple of them being the ones in China, India and Russia.

And the HPV vaccine before that was a virus-like particle vaccine, which was new tech as well. We've effectively run out of low hanging fruit where inactivated or live-attenuated vaccines are really amenable for use.
