ARM doesn't make anything either - it's 100% IP just like Redbull.

And RAMBUS is/was another.

This is a quite viable business model. It's largely the reason why Intel is on the skids but ARM is in ascendency: no one company is smart enough to think through all the optimal product expansions and product extensions possible with a good idea.

ARM develops the IP. Red Bull did not develop its drink.

It seems like they at least created the recipe at first, so it's not just 100% marketing.

He took this idea, modified the ingredients to suit the tastes of Westerners, and, in partnership with Chaleo, founded Red Bull GmbH in 1987 in Chakkapong, Thailand. [1]

Aren’t all consumer goods companies marketing companies at their core? Like Coca Cola etc...

The Twitter thread states Coca-Cola Co spends ~8.5% of revenue on marketing. (Red Bull is closer to 35%)
