This article is pretty standard analytic bilk: demand readers use your definitions of words and complain about the decline of western civilization when they don't.

(a): The complaint is about using the same word in different ways, without marking the difference, which has the effect of hiding that the conclusions are unfounded. (b): It's a small part of the essay, one sin among many.
