I got a consulting project, told the client I was using RoR, and now I'm learning it. I think I've learned just about everything like this, with RoR being the most recent.

They didn't bother to ask you whether you already knew RoR? Or they're willing to pay you to learn it?

Consulting is mostly a relationship business, and I have an excellent relationship with these guys. I did however have to guarantee my work.
