An opportunity is enough, I'd politely decline :)

An opportunity isn’t a choice. It’s more of a dice roll, and you don’t get to see the number.

It is by definition a chance to do something. If you don't get a choice, then you never had an opportunity.

If you think modern society provides equality of opportunity than you are delusional! There are those whom are born into wealth and those that are born into poverty. There are those who are born into college educated households and there are those who are born into high-school educated households. Some personalities are resilient enough to cope with the short end of the stick and others don’t know what hit them until they are 4 years behind — in math and science — those whom were born into better conditions.

Go volunteer to tutor at-risk middle school students if you don’t believe me. Many of them can barely read. Do you think they have an equal opportunity to successful higher education in fields that are worth getting degrees in?

I come from poverty myself, and I couldn't agree more. I never said we are where we need to be. I was simply pointing out a difference in goals.
