Well yes, as a kid at the time I remember thinking I understood pretty much all of it except the switched mode PSU and Woz's wacky floppy controller.

What about hi-res graphics? Apple II hi-res graphics were especially wacky.

Woz could understand it. After all, he invented it. He wrote the code for the Apple II. I bet he understood every aspect of it.
