Re:Efficiency is dangerous and slowing down makes life better by euske on Friday August 21, 2020 @08:32PM (#24240471)
There's a similar relationship between efficiency (convenience) and security (safety). Examples are everywhere. A centralized system (efficient) is a SPOF (not safe). Aggressive caching can be fast but unreliable. Adding a lot of features in a short term makes the code unstable, etc, etc.

People often focus on one thing and overlook the sacrifice they're really making. Everything has a tradeoff.
