It's great when people admit when they have changed their mind and the reasons why - but a lot of "political" people simply change and never admit they recommended anything else.

Or, as in TFA, they say that circumstances have changes and their their previous position was 100% definitely right at the time.

That's completely reasonable, but some people won't highlight that they have changed their mind as they think it makes them look weak.
