Well sure, they get to do whatever they want, you're right. It's their community they're moderating. We agree.

I think it's probably warranted some of the time, mostly around topics where much heat but little light is generated.

How does this method avoid the moderators implicit bias? Unless we get actual sitting judges how can these people be neutral and not impose their bias on what light is?
