Actually, I think it makes a lot of sense. 4chan's appeal is the anonyminity, and facebook depends on having accurate data on people to mine and sell.

While it's representative, moot doesn't have $50bn to lose. His principles are less likely to be marketing than Zuck's.

Not only that, but there's also value in close social distance and the change in behavior it brings.
