I'm going to events in London and Budapest end of March. Not yet cancelled but I've been wondering if it's inevitable.

The virus will still be spreading until at least April at this rate.
Longer than April, it's been spreading in China since December and it's still spreading now, 3 months later, it's just beginning to spread elsewhere. It's probably going to be a while. The goal of the various health organizations is to slow the spread so that hospitals and medical services aren't overwhelmed by everyone getting sick all at once.
Does it show seasonality?
I've seen conflicting opinions about that - seems that we may have to wait and see. [1][2]

Influenza does, and the mechanism of spread is similar. Curiously there's still no definitive accepted theory on the seasonality of influenza.
