I presume that the alcohol from the wine would not be enough to kill the virus, right?

It's unlikely, wine's alcohol content is only around 13%, you would need about 4 times that to kill the average virus. It would also be on the lip of the cup rather than in the wine.

As a kid in the 90s, my church had a separate line for kids so we could participate too, and we got grape juice.

Communion wine is typically only 12%-18% alcohol by volume, so probably not.
