How to best monetize a website: Cost per click VS cost per lead VS annual fee?

We've done a basic MVP in Squarespace for a software comparison site.

The plan is to build a proper comparison site once we get some traction.

From your experience, what's the best revenue model to monetize it?

Is it:

1. cost per click with a bidding auction, e.g. Capterra

2. cost per lead only: Software Advice

3. or annual fee with cost per lead: G2

My gut tells me that it's CPC with bidding - similar to Google Ads.

Capterra model will generate most revenue as long as they rank well in Google. It’s similar to Google Ads. It’s also low touch which means you won’t need to spend a lot on Account Managers. The downside to Capterra is that if you lose Google rankings you lose revenue. Perhaps you could also charge an annual fee on top.
