i love the work you've done on your emulators and your writing--i look forward to the new site and more good content!
if i may offer a suggestion for getting more people involved, i would say please give serious consideration to a UI paradigm rework. i would love to contribute to higan but i find its interface completely impenetrable! in older versions, i was able to sorta figure out how to use icarus to import a ROM after a while, but i tried again a few months back and i couldn't for the life of me get anything to run.
you are a treasure to the emulation community so keep on doing what you love however you want to do it. i just wish i could figure out how to use higan!

I'm currently in the middle of a higan GUI rewrite, and I'd be most happy to get some feedback! It's really difficult because we can't simplify things that would break edge cases on other systems.
