Given that the San Francisco now has the highest crime rate in the country thanks to lax enforcement, this is a step in the right direction..

Cameras don't deter crime as effectively as uniformed patrols. And uniformed patrols aren't eventually going to drain into a massive pool of recordings that can be mined for your every movement.
