It seems to mostly be a propaganda article in the sense that I've never seen a statistical analysis supporting "Go down the list of high IQ individuals and what you'll mostly find is rather mediocre people with a few highly interesting quirks".

That points out an interesting human bias problem about identifying intelligence, we're really good at dehumanizing our enemies, political, or whatever else, so presumably a theoretical AI not coincidentally matching the observers arbitrary standards of religion or politics or maybe even fashion would be viciously attacked as not being intelligent regardless of actual performance.
