They mention there are 'misaligned interests' in supply chains, but I am not sure what interests are misaligned?

A producer is interested in maximizing profit. A consumer is interested in maximizing value.

Both parties may act to further their own interests at the expense of the other's interests.

This is the same conflict in every marketplace exchange, and something a blockchain doesn't address.

Right on top of my head? A dozen plus :-) I just don't see how Blockchain would solve any of those.
