Choice quote: "When it comes to misogyny, men are apparently more tolerant than women."

Take a good look at ourselves, not-all-mens.

So an obscure book "Chaos Monkeys: Obscene Fortune and Random Failure in Silicon Valley" is an accurate representation of "the" tech industry?

Next.

No. As the author insightfully points out, it is the attitude displayed by many people who read the book, and reacted, yeah, it's racist and sexist, but it's pretty entertaining: 3/5 stars. The problem is casual acceptance.

It's hard to respect people let alone women if your value system is based on money. Not saying all people in SV are that way, but it obviously exists.

That author is entitled to his perception of women in the valley and being sexually attracted to women. If you don't like him, simply avoid hanging out with him. It seems a lot of men don't like him, either. Presumably they simply avoid him.

If men being attracted to them is a reason for women to avoid tech, I wonder what realistic job openings are left for them. They'd better choose an all-female occupation.
