Re:Nestle, Disney Pull YouTube Ads, Joining Furor Over Child... by mc32 on Wednesday February 20, 2019 @04:45PM (#19212312)
I hear ya. It’s one of those things that are like Janus and are two sided.

But imagine: store employees make a peep hole in dressing rooms. Sure parents help their children change, depending on age, it’s all innocent, but an unsupervised uninvited stranger is a little different, right?

Same with these kids’ videos. Now of course a good question is who’s uploading, thd kids or the parents? Parents should know better than make family vids avail to all, Google should do a better job of figuring out if a kid’s old enough to upload if the parent isn’t involved in this.

They may even default to “private”/unlisted if they can auto determine the uploader is a kid, and advise parents if content, though innocent, contains minors (this should be default for parents anyway because although they have right to make decisions for their kids, they should think hard before putting their kids out there on the internet, if nothing else for the privacy of their kids')
