Is there some way to view them in light mode? I am not a fan of the dark.

Is there a color scheme that doesn't look like a tornado hit a paint factory? I couldn't find one.

You can select the colour scheme from a menu in the bottom left (including several light schemes).

Under the font size selector, there's a theme selector.
