Addressing the issue in software seems like the obvious choice - especially as it’s a standard ability in other operating systems.

For arguments sake, if this was a physical issue that couldn’t be worked around in software, what would you do? Are there mice out there that themselves can be programmed to achieve the same end result?

So standard that Evoluent needs to ship its own customization tool for Windows and macOS?

Do you know why that is? Mac has apparently supported this for years now: http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/09/set-a-mac-mouse-to-be-left-ha...

The issue at hand isn't about switching left and right button. Windows, Mac, Chrome OS support it for ages (I know that Windows 3.1 supported that).

The feature request is the ability to map arbitrary buttons (of which there can be many more than 3) to arbitrary actions.
