Ask the product and strategic analytics folks what statistical models they're already using, then identify gaps between that and what would be required to add (additional) value by making use of ML techniques.

Also consider that ML simply isn't a useful tool for your company. "Let's not spend (more) time trying various ML techniques" is a perfectly valid and useful outcome of an experiment using ML.
