As a european the American view of "market" is always fascinating. Most tax breaks and subsidies amazon will get would be totally illegal under EU laws https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_aid_(European_Union) because they distort the market.

Yes, but we have to differentiate between general tax competition available to most companies and company specific offers, these are clearly illegal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EU_illegal_State_aid_case_agai...
