Fascinating that you describe the logo as a fox chasing its tail. I’ve always thought of it as a fox snuggling up around a blue sphere (which I always interpreted as Earth or a globe).

Some versions of it clearly have the fox curled around a planet, but not all.

My twenty pound marmalade-and-cream Maine Coon chases his own tail on occasion, doing a pretty good impression of the Firefox logo.
