I think it's because of idealism innate in computing. Those young aspiring minds dream about making a positive change in the world, studying day and night, sacrificing pleasure for knowledge and capability, and at some point somebody will show them a video of a person blown into pieces and telling them: "Congratulations! This is the main fruit of your life. Well Done!" - moments later - "Why do you complain? You signed a contract so shut up!"
